Lighter Footprints has joined forces with other groups in the Kooyong Climate Change Alliance to work towards the City of Boroondara declaring a Climate Emergency. We have been petitioning the good people of Boroondara since October in shopping centres on Saturday mornings.
After a Christmas hiatus we are back to it this Saturday – one group is meeting outside the Balwyn Safeway at 10.30 and we will progress from there – ring 0425 843 685 if you can’t find us.
The Boroondara Climate Emergency Working Group has great plans for a local Climate Emergency Declaration, including meeting local Councillors and raising public support. We’d love you to join us!

Climate Emergency actions including supporting residents to put up solar panels and making houses more comfortable with energy efficiency measures, increasing public transport and active, low carbon transport, reducing urban heat with increasing green space, wetlands and tree cover, improving sustainability measures and recycling, and other measures to reduce local emissions.
