ClimateWorks argues that decarbonisation by 2050 is not only possible, but likely to boost Australia’s fortunes coming out of the pandemic. Mature technologies exist across the economy that should be deployed en masse to achieve deep emissions cuts while solutions in the hard-to-abate sectors are developed. Underpinned by a move to 100% renewable electricity, governments, business and individuals all have their roles to play in bringing this vision about.
