2020 Vision with Simon Holmes a Court
Location: Marwal Centre, 9 Marwal Avenue, Balwyn North
Energy and policy expert Simon Holmes a Court needs no introduction. Join us at the Marwal Centre on February 26th for another incisive annual update - when it comes to climate, emissions and the clean energy transition, Simon cutting right political smokescreens to offer clear perspective and pathway forward.
With federal energy policy moving backwards "at a canter", and at odds with growing public calls for emergency action on water, clean energy and the climate crisis, what can be done? Last year Simon lifted the lid on the government's dodgy accounting and failed policies. Find out what is in store in 2020.
In 2019 double London’s entire annual rain fell on Townsville in just a fortnight, our country has endured another round of cyclones, Tasmania burned, the last four years have been the hottest on record, and 2019 is set to join them. Emissions are rising at an ever increasing rate, especially in Australia with our 2019 emissions to be the highest on record, with LNG fugitive increases of particular note.
What is really going with our energy policy? What are the levers we can pull?
Simon Holmes a Court offers us valuable insights on the state of our our energy markets and clean energy transition. He will dig deep into the heart of the current situation in Canberra, and look at possibilities for action at State and Federal level. With costs continuing to fall, and public support at an all time high, it’s time to put our shoulders to the wheel.
Come at 7.00pm to the Marwal Centre, 9 Marwal Ave, Balwyn North for a warm welcome, a glass of wine and some nibbles. The event starts at 7.30pm.
