Let’s get active in New Kooyong! Did you know the electorate of Kooyong grew prior to the 2025 Federal election due to a boundary redistribution and now extends south of the Monash freeway? It takes in part of what was previously the Higgins electorate.

We are excited to launch a new working group called ‘New Kooyong’ with a view to informing our community about the need for strong climate action. Join us for an evening at the Malvernvale Hotel - we’d love to hear your ideas!.

Join us to discuss how we can best bring climate action to this new area of Kooyong. We are working with some of the wonderful campaigners who previously ran Higgins Climate Action Network.

New Kooyong is not an area that Lighter Footprints knows well and it is time to change that! We are keen to get out on the streets and talk to the community, run public events (a Battery Info evening has been suggested) and engage with Senator Michelle Ananda-Rajah whose office is in this part of Kooyong.

So, if you live in the new area of Kooyong, or even if you don’t, come along to the first New Kooyong Working Group meeting. Join us at 6:30 pm for a meal or 7:30 for the meeting. We look forward to seeing you there!
