Carolyn Ingvarson – winner of the ACF Peter Rawlinson Conservation Award 2020

We are delighted that our founder and Convenor of over 14 years has been awarded the ACF (Australian Conservation Foundation) ‘Peter Rawlinson Award’ 2020.  Carolyn was awarded for her inspirational leadership and determination to grow action on climate change. She is a joint recipient with Steve Meacher from Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum. You can read more about Peter Rawlinson, the ACF Peter Rawlinson Award and its recipients here.

Those of us who have worked with Carolyn know her dedication, determination and wisdom. Under her leadership Lighter Footprints has grown from a small group meeting in her living room into an incorporated association with over 2,500 supporters. She has worked tirelessly to engage our community and our elected representatives on climate change issues. She has supported Lighter Footprints volunteers to grow their capacities and to be bold in their ambition to achieve change. We are so pleased that her leadership has been recognised by this prestigious award.

This year Carolyn has decided to step down from her leadership role but will remain active in the work of Lighter Footprints. This Award provides a perfect bookend to her time as Convenor.
